Armband for the easy identification of foreigners

The True Finns party got criticised again for the blog entry of James Hirvisaaris assistant.

Helena Eronen the assistant of James Hirvisaari member of the parlament from the True Finns has suggested compulsory armbands for foreigners to wear so that police can more easily identify non-Finns. Hirvisaari doesn’t see a reason why Helena Eronen’s employment should be terminated.
The case made a great stir, and many people were outraged. The blog entry clearly refers to the Jews that suffered discrimination under Nazi rule. This type of parallels shook many. The majority of the True Finns party shares the opinion that Helena Eronen’s employement should be terminated, except Hirvisaari.

Helena Eronen defends herself by saying that the entries meant to be funny and she did not completely thought seriously, the press just twisted her words.
Pirkko Ruohonen-Lerner, parliamentary leader of the True Finns promised to find a ways to terminate Eronen’s employement if Hirvisaari is still not willing to do so. Pirkko Ruohonen-Lerner is on the opinion that Hirvisaarit is an employee of parliament, thus the parlament can overrule his decison in this matter.

Pirkko Ruohonen-Lerner also said that the party had lost confidence in Hirvisaari and condemns what happened, because this paints a bad picture of the party and also demages Finland’s reputation abroad. The Prime Minister Jyrki Katainen also condemned the incident. The blog entry has been deleted. Jame Hirvisaari itself has been condemned in 2010 in connection with a blog entry of hate speech because he defamed Muslims on Uusi Suomi (New Finland) website. Also in the camp of the True Finns Jussi Halla-Aho’s Facebook entry from last year has been under heavy criticism, in which he mentioned that by military occupation of Greece its economy may operate more efficiently. The True Finns party’s Teuven Hakkarainen brought unwanted attention with his comments also like that the gay and somali should be deported to the Åland island.
